Often times, "conducting an insurance check-up" isn't on disaster preparedness checklists. But having the right type and amount of insurance is a crucial component of disaster preparedness, and the best way to maintain a healthy financial future following a disaster. Making sure you understand all your insurance options, what is covered (and more importantly NOT covered by insurance), and updating your insurance coverage should be as routine as an annual physical.
