Laurel, Maryland's Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is relaunching it's team and recruiting new members. Please come celebrate the relaunch of Laurel CERT! There will be light food and cake, and plenty of CERT! CERT's mission is to facilitate the development of a community-based disaster response plan for the City of Laurel to ensure the city, and it's citizens, are prepared for any type of emergency. CERT supports Laurel’s disaster planning by training residents for emergencies, coordinating with other federal, state, county, and local agencies, developing tabletop exercises, reviewing disaster plans, deploying to assist with emergencies, and enhancing communication. If you've ever been interested in learning about emergency management, how to make yourself, your family, and your community safe in the event of a disaster, or you've been curious about what happens if there are city wide emergencies, now is the time to come check out Laurel CERT!
